Appraisals & Umpiring Services
Handling an insurance claim isn’t always straightforward. You might file all the right paperwork, but that doesn’t guarantee the insurance company will agree with your side. It’s not uncommon for both sides to have different opinions about what the damage is really worth. When that happens, the next step isn’t always court, it might be the appraisal process.
This is a tool built into many insurance policies that lets both sides bring in experts to figure out the value of the damage. It’s not about debating coverage or arguing about what’s included! It's strictly about putting a fair number on the loss.
How the Appraisal Process Works
When either side of you or the insurance company thinks the numbers aren’t adding up, either can trigger the appraisal clause. Once that happens, each side hires an independent appraiser. Those appraisers will inspect the property, look over estimates, and compare notes.
If they agree on the value, that’s the end of it. The claim is settled at that amount. If they can’t agree, they bring in an umpire. This is a neutral third party whose job is to break the tie. The agreement of any two either both appraisers, or one appraiser and the umpire becomes the final number.
A lot of policyholders don’t even realize this option exists. They think their only choices are to accept the insurance company’s number or hire a lawyer. The appraisal process is often quicker, less expensive, and focused only on getting to the right value without all the legal back and forth.

Hi, I’m Bobby. I started an Assured Claims Group because I’ve been on the other side of this. I’ve seen how people get tossed around by the insurance system confused, frustrated, often feeling like they’re being left in the dark. I knew I could do something about it.
I didn’t grow up dreaming of being a public adjuster. This work found me through life experience, real stories, real people who needed help and didn’t know where to turn. That’s what drives me. I want folks to feel like someone’s actually in their corner, not just doing a job, but standing up for them when it really counts.
Over the years, I’ve met families picking up the pieces after hurricanes, small business owners trying to stay afloat, and people who just needed someone to slow things down and explain what’s really going on. Those moments stay with me.
